Hello Everyone,
My name is Dan, I'm 18 and I'd thought I'd set up a blog. I have never 'blogged' before so I am all very new to this.
The main reason I have decided to make this blog is... I'm not sure tbh. I guess I like the idea of sharing interesting ideas, thoughts, points of view, with people who I'd never normally have an oppurtunity to discuss these sorts of issues with.
Simply, I'm going to be blogging about the stuff that I'm interested in. Politics, Current affairs, History, Philisophical ideas, Scepticism, the Environment, and general other trends which will hopefully become apparent if I catch the blogging bug.
With this blog I like the idea of discussion being very open. I don't want it to be me aimlessely drivelling out rubbish which no one is interested in. Discussion and debate are what I'm looking for I guess.
I guess I've invisaged this blog for being the sort of discussion one would have with friends at a quiet night at the pub. Not overtly intellectual, but still able to put across interesting points and discuss general intellectual and nerdy stuff. Sipping a crabbies with some dry roasted peanuts maybe...
I struggled for a name for the blog. dmcrun comes from my general nickname 'dmc', my initials, and my association with running.
Hope this sounds somewhat interesting to all you potential readers out there.

ReplyDeleteTbh it's difficult to gt much exposure on a site like this. I'm going to codesign and build a small technology blog with someone at uni. Want to base the blog on the theme of contrasting views. Had a cool idea of a small blog contributed to by two people with distinct differences of opinion. Was thinking it would be a really fresh take on your standard rambling blog. I know you (Benni) don't necessarily have interest in writing about tech, but I thought it would be cool to have a site where I write about my thoughts on apple related things etc, and it had a similar, yet contrasting post written by you right next to it, with a unified comments section. But I'll save that idea for uni!
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think you'll write about? Usually people just find inspiration in a blog post on a website they visit regularly, and cast their own views on it. Tbh I don't really care if many people read it anyway. Just fun to articulate personal viewson things.
